For these book jacket redesigns I focused on classic books in order to challenge myself to come up with a new take on a cover which has been done many times before. I focused on representing symbols from the stories which stuck after reading.
Book Jacket concept for The Snows of Kilimanjaro by Ernest Hemingway mockup
Design is based on the opening line of the story: “Kilimanjaro is a snow-covered mountain 19,710 feet high, and is said to be the highest mountain in Africa. Its western summit is called the Masai ‘Ngaje Ngai’, the House of God. Close to the western summit there is a dried and frozen carcas of a leopard. No one has explained what the leopard was seeking at that altitude.”
