Joie de Vivre Tea
Joie de Vivre is an invented chain of tea cafes which carries it's own line of products. The name, the common French phrase for "Joy of Life", comes from the idea of tea, a seemingly mundane product, providing energy and pleasure to peoples lives. The logo design is inspired by Matisse's paper cutouts. Much of Matisse's work evokes this same idea of pastoral joy in a nature and the simplicity of daily life— notably Le Bonheur de Vivre (1905). In order to mimic the look of cut paper, the logo was first hand cut out of cardstock, then scanned and vectorized using Adobe Illustrator.
